About MaxBarbu

Play Barbu with friends, practise against bots, and learn from every hand.

MaxBarbu brings the four-player card game online, with tables for friends, solo games and shared challenges. Whether you are learning the contracts or returning for another game, there is a way to play at your own pace.

The game

Barbu is a card game with seven contracts. Some reward taking tricks; others challenge you to avoid particular cards or tricks. A full game on MaxBarbu lasts 28 deals, with each player choosing every contract once. Doubling adds another layer of decisions. Choose how to play

• Multiplayer: meet friends at a Social or Rated table, or watch a game as a kibitzer.
• Solo: play a full game against three bots, with Social practice and Rated play. Your progress saves automatically, so you can return later.
• Daily Challenge: seven deals with the same cards and opponents for everyone. Finish before midnight London time to rank.
• Duplicate on Demand: play one hand at a time with fixed cards, contract and doubles, then compare your result with other players.

Use Replay to revisit recorded games and explore card-play decisions. The ladders keep Multiplayer, Solo, Daily Challenge and Duplicate on Demand results separate. Eligible completed rated games on MaxBarbu now contribute to the Multiplayer ladder alongside externally supplied results.
